In Place of War is delighted to launch a new international network of theatre practitioners and academics. Come and meet theatre practitioners from Kosovo, Gaza, Sudan, DR Congo, Sri Lanka, Northern Ireland and UK at the launch event on Friday 24^th July, 2009 at The Martin Harris Centre, The University of Manchester from 6pm.

The In Place of War Network is a collaborative initiative for academic and practice-based research into the role, function and impact of theatre and performance in places of armed conflict. The network has been formed following a major 3 year research project exploring theatre and performance practice from sites of crisis and armed conflict, looking specifically at Sri Lanka, Refugees in the UK, Rwanda, Northern Ireland and Palestine. The network is supported by The Leverhulme Trust.
